On sabbatical leave otherwise known as getting my shit together. It has not been good, but here's to hoping it will, soon. Peace out.
That twenty-something girl is now in her thirties. Still grappling life, still travelling.

Whip It
A screencap from the movie. Bliss and Oliver on a date with a cute wall doodle, nevermind the guy with the mohawk.
I like their roller derby names: Babe Ruthless. Iron Maven. Smashley Simpson. Bloody Holly. There was even a girl who auditioned that will be Jabba the Slut once she gets in. Cool.
I like their coach too, Razor. He's absolutely adorable as a coach!
For a moment Bodeen didn't sound sleepy and boring at all. Bluebonnett beauty pageant. Squealer. Jammer. Stryper. Etc.
Whip It belongs to my 2009 top movies because, well, it is a totally refreshing and one swell film. :)

General Grievous
In some rare moments, someone actually appreciated my efforts in writing, that in some fleeting seconds lifted my confidence a wee bit higher. It's not a lot, but it's definitely something especially to someone like me who has the confidence of a bug in front of a human. You know, you always get a feeling that you're gonna get squashed at some point in your life (sorry bugs!).
Anyway, my point is this: thanks man!

Jog & Emma
One of my long-time friend, Jog, has just tied the knot with her long-time girlfriend, fellow Geologist Emma, last January 8 at St. Pancratius Chruch in Paco (yes, the same one where Jay and Sarah wed). Another January wedding for me too, just like last year when Rock married her long-time girlfriend Mau.
In this wedding, Honey and I realized a lot of things, so many things that it made our head hurts. Oh the intricacies of weddings, the preparations, the moment itself, the reception until the honeymoon stage.
But I realized this, weddings has a way of making a sentimental fool out of anyone. It makes you ponder about forever (and its implications) and definitely it makes you ponder about your own age.
Jog is the first guy and a friend I saw who cried while walking down the aisle which I was 100% sure was because of absolute happiness.
Congratulations! Your forever begins hereon.

Wednesday Love
Last night was dedicated to watching the newly downloaded episodes 12 of both The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother series. And boy was I in for some precious entertainment?
You bet. Episode 12 of HIMYM is particularly special because it is the series' 100th episode which meant that there is a musical involved!
Barney Stinson totally nailed it! He was just legen - wait for it - dary that I totally enjoyed their 100th episode presentation.

Raj gave his limited edition Green Lantern lantern to Sheldon in exchange for some night out, being his wingman, and nodding at pretty much what Raj says to girls.

Kay Ganda ng Pilipinas!
From time to time, I make sure to stop by Mr. Our Awesome Planet man himself's - Anton Diaz - blog. Today, completing my backlog readings, I came across this:
"There are only two types of Pinoys in the country: those who prefer to travel to Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Hong Kong Disneyland for vacation because it seems more economically convenient to do so, and those Pinoys who have fallen in love with the Philippines and have committed to discovering its beauty and hidden gems, proud to put local exploration before foreign travel. So, which one are you?"
Yes, I do dream of traveling to other countries, experiencing new cultures, taking in new sights, forging future relationship with the people on the country of my dream but I never took for granted what my home country can offer too. And while I am still saving up for grander and obviously fancier trips in the future (hopefully!), it is my utmost priority to finish exploring and traveling in my own country. And come to think of it, I'm actually, albeit slowly, getting there.

Starting the Year with a ROADTRIIIP!
Bored kids went to a roadtrip. Thinking where to go, we managed to narrow it down to North or South. South means that the farthest we can probably go is Batangas. But a certain someone just came from Bats so, North it is.
It was my first time to be with these boys on a long trip but there never was an awkward moment, even when we were practically shelling out money for someone because he has no dough at all, even when we were quite cranky and getting lost already and yes, even after the disastrous horror house. Disastrous in the sense that I honestly haven't seen boys as coward as them. But I say this with pure affection. That these boys can scream like the sissiest boys on Earth but wouldn't care a thing. In fact, they can say it with pride. I love that I learned a thing or two on how they analyze stuff, including, YES, romance.
In fairness, there are seconds that they do make sense. It just doesn't last long especially when naughtiness and playfulness comes in between.
A totally rocking experience.

This horror house scared the hell out of these five guys. SERIOUSLY. All I could do was shake my head.
