Woke up and decided Books are my new BFFs...and because they don't ignore you

Malls get too depressing, too much happy people and too little money to splurge on. Movies are too cheesy and again, too little money to take yourself inside. Friends are always off somewhere or prettly much absorbed with their personal miseries, woes or lunatic happiness they can't share or won't share.

Bookstores, on the other hand, can go right ahead and adopt me.NOW. Because if there's a place that can sober me up, temporarily cure me of my loneliness, can chase the blues away and catch up on my grammar and doses of big words all at the same time, it's none other than running away with my imagination, a decent book in my hands and that faraway, misty look you only get when you're pretty much contented.

Centennial Kwentos

UP is celebrating its hundreth year of existence this year, and yesterday, was the grand kick-off celebration for a year-long festivity all over different UP units. Indeed, it was a great day to be part of an eventful day and a 100 more reason to be a proud Iskos and Iskas. Go UP, ang galing mo!

FOUND: a disheveled lady along Quezon Hall. Seemed to have lost the other pair of her slippers, and a bit of herself too, if I may say so. Contact necessary offices.

This seemed to be a part of an earlier scene. Happily posing with someone (perhaps there's a romantic inclination here somewhere that we do not know of) .

Look at the lady sulking a bit. This is not good.

Alas. Back to their romantic ways. Presumably counting stars? There's a lot of possibilities here that we are not aware of. Life, and its tricky ways.

Hola 2008, Adios 2007

Hindi ko masasabing taon ko ang 2007, although, maraming magagandang bagay ang nangyari sakin sa taong yun, hindi ko pa rin makakalimutan lahat ng hirap, kalungkutan at kapalpakang nangyari sakin as well. Katulad ng nakaugalian ko nang gawin sa tuwing matatapos o magsisimula ang isang taon, yep, kailangan kong magbalik-tanaw bago ko tuluyang yakapin ang panibagong taon.



Sa taong 2007 ay nangyari ang mga ito:

• nakakuha ako ng tutorial job just when i BADLY needed it. January 21 to be exact.


• Na-meet ko in person si PING MEDINA.


• Nabigyan ako ng free ticket sa first night ng UP Fair (c/o Popsie), nagkaroon ng lakas ng loob na akyatin ang rock-climbing wall ng UPM at mapanood na mag-perform ng live ang Master Rapper for the first time.


• makarating at magsaya sa Puerto Galera (kahit walang pera at tuluyan pang mabaon sa pagkakautang).


• GRUMADWEYT. daym! Nung gabing malaman ko na nakapasa ko ng Math 100 na yata ang pinakamasayang gabi ng buhay ko.


• Naakyat ang Mt. Manabu kasama ang Explore.


• Umiyak sa clinic, sa bus, sa fast food restaurants sa sobrang depression.


• magkaroon ng surprise birthday party!


• Na-experience ang Pahiyas Festival sa Lucban, Quezon.


• Ma-reject ng 7 beses sa mga inaaplayang trabaho.


• Mag-training ng 2 beses sa 2 magkaibang Call Center (na lahat ay naunsyami).


• Matanggap sa trabahong, finally, ay hindi call center at related sa tinapos kong kurso.


• Makatanggap ng kauna-unahang payslip.


• Ma-depress sa trabaho dahil sa sinabi ng boss mo.


• Mapanood ang FOB concert sa Araneta Coliseum.


• Mapanood si Eliott Yamin sa Market! Market!


• Mawalan ng gana sa trabaho.


• Manlibre for the first time, at second time, third time...sana masundan pa.


• Kumain at manlibre sa PenPen.


• Magkaroon ng mababait at makukulit na katrabaho.


• Umakyat ng Gulugod Baboy at mag-swimming sa marine sanctuary.


• Mailibre ng maraming maraming tao.


• Umakyat ng Mt. Pulag (at makababa ng buhay).


• Makaranas ng kauna-unahang company christmas party at madekwatan ng Christmas bonus.


• Sumayaw sa dance floor. for a total of 5 minutes.


• Bumili ng 25 pirasong libro sa halagang 600 pesos.


• Makatanggap ng maraming regalo at makapagbigay ng maraming regalo. hmmm...


• Magtrabaho agad pagkatapos ng Pasko.


• Mag-Bagong Taon sa ibang lugar ( Infanta, Quezon to be exact).

Habang bina-backtrack ko ang mga archive ko sa blog at mga sinulat ko sa journal ko, nalaman ko na ilan sa mga deepest wishes ko ay nagkatotoo naman pala. Unang-una na ay ang matapos na ang paghihirap ko sa Math, makapagtrabaho sa Ortigas at mapanood yung 4 na pelikulang ni-look forward ko nung mga unang araw ng '07. So i guess, pagkatapos ng lahat ng kamalasang nangyari sa buhay ko netong nakaraang taon, maswerte pa rin ako kasi mas nangibabaw pa rin ang mga blessings. Maraming pangarap ang natupad. Medyo nabawasan na ang things to do before i die ko...ng 2. haha.

Pero naman. Lahat ng mga yun ay hindi rin magiging posible kung hindi dahil sa kanila: Pam.Kimi.Honey.Bermillo Family.Ate Grace.Ed.Juraine. Hindi ko malalampasan in one piece and all by myself ang taong 2007 kaya syempre, pinapasalamatan ko kayong lahat.

As for 2008, all I want to happen are:

1. Makalabas ng bansa.


2. Makalabas ng Luzon Island.


3. Makalipat ng trabahong mamahalin at igagalang ko.


4. Makaakyat ng panibago na namang bundok.


5. Meet new people.


6. Magkaron ng direksyon sa buhay.


7. Makalipat ng mas matinong bahay.
   
8. Kiss Meet boys. yeahyeahyeah right!

We'll see kung ilan sa kanila ang matupad by the end of the year.

2008, rock me on!

Spending New Year in a far off place and different way was everything I've ever dreamed of when i was in high school. Thank God for chances like these. Help me make 2008 my year, as well as everybody else who needs it. I will go out of the country, i will kiss meet boys, i will find a new job, i will go to dozen different places. i hope will.
